The 12th Provincial Chapter of the Sacred Hearts Province of Brazil, Paraguay region, began this Monday, November 20th. The assembly is being held at the Sacred Hearts Inn and Spirituality Center in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo.

During the meeting, brothers from various parts of Brazil and Paraguay give an account of their work, evaluate it, and plan future perspectives for the Congregation. The Provincial Superior is also chosen at this assembly.

Currently, Father Osvânio Humberto Mariano, ss.cc, is the provincial superior and his name may be chosen again by the brothers. If re-elected, he will remain at the head of the Province for another three years.

In addition to the brothers from the province, the assembly includes the participation of the Superior General of the Congregation, Fr. Alberto Toutin, ss.cc. The Superior came from Rome to oversee the work in Brazil.

The gathering is also an opportunity for fellowship among the brothers and sisters of the Congregation, who will spend five days in assembly.
