The Metropolitan Archbishop of Belo Horizonte and president of the CNBB (National Conference of Brazilian Bishops), Dom Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, confirmed his participation in the 2021 Feast of Blessed Father Eustáquio. The archbishop will preside over the closing Mass of the feast, on August 30th, at 7 pm.
The Eucharistic Celebration will also include religious men and women and priests from the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. The church will be closed, without the presence of devotees, who can follow the festive moment from their homes through the Padre Eustáquio Channel on YouTube, or through TV Pai Eterno, throughout Brazil.
Every year, Dom Walmor makes a point of participating in the festival and helping to spread the message of Health and Peace, the legacy of Father Eustáquio. The Archbishop of Belo Horizonte presided over the ceremony in which the Beatification of the Dutch religious figure was proclaimed in 2006, and since then he has presided over one of the festival celebrations every year.
As part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte, Dom Walmor had already celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Beatification of Father Eustáquio. This took place on June 13th at the Christ the King Cathedral, in a beautiful ceremony attended by a caravan of devotees and faithful from all over the world through the Padre Eustáquio Channel.
