With all the necessary sanitary controls and precautions, thousands of devotees passed through the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, in the capital of Minas Gerais, this Monday (30). According to the organizers, during the 12 hours of visitation, around ten thousand devotees passed through the Memorial, where the mortal remains of the Blessed are located.

The festivities in Belo Horizonte began at 6:00 AM with the celebration of Holy Mass, broadcast on the Padre Eustáquio Channel. Immediately afterward, the doors of the Sanctuary were opened to the faithful arriving from various parts of the country. Cida Oliveira came from Rio de Janeiro to give thanks for all the graces received through the intercession of Padre Eustáquio. From Belo Horizonte and the metropolitan region, thousands of people also paid homage to the Blessed. To accommodate everyone, a corridor with markings on the floor helped to delineate the space and maintain social distancing. At the entrance, temperature checks and hand and shoe sanitization were performed. Also present was the vice-mayor of Belo Horizonte, Fuad Noman. A devotee of Padre Eustáquio since childhood, Noman said he always visits the Sanctuary to give thanks for the countless graces received.

At the Memorial, a votive candle stand was set up beneath the stained-glass windows so that each person could express their tribute. Upon leaving, priests of the Sacred Hearts sprinkled holy water on the devotees. Those who preferred not to get out of their cars could also receive a blessing in a kind of drive-thru set up in the square.

At the end of the day, the closing Holy Mass, celebrated by Dom Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, moved the brothers and sisters of the congregation and representatives of movements and pastoral groups who were invited to occupy the church pews. Millions of viewers were able to experience the closing of the celebration firsthand through the live broadcast on TV Pai Eterno.
