Patrocínio-MG will have a Municipal Day in Memory of Blessed Father Eustáquio

The City Council of Patrocínio, in the Alto Paranaíba region of Minas Gerais, approved a bill establishing the Municipal Day of Devotion in Memory of Blessed Father Eustáquio. The bill was put to a plenary vote and approved by all council members, with Councilor Professor Alexandre requesting a joint signature. Now, Law 5616 has been sanctioned by Mayor Deiró Marra.

This law, introduced by councilman Professor Natanael, aims to highlight the importance of Blessed Father Eustáquio to the city.

On July 15, 1925, Father Eustáquio and his brothers from the Congregation arrived in Romaria, in the Triângulo Mineiro region. They assumed pastoral responsibility for the episcopal sanctuary and the parish of Nossa Senhora da Abadia de Água Suja, as well as the parishes of São Miguel de Nova Ponte and Santana de Indianópolis, all within the Archdiocese of Uberaba. In 1926, Father Eustáquio He also assumed the responsibilities of advisor to the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in Brazil, and during this period he also spent time in Patrocínio. In offering his personal guidance and healing practices for physical ailments, Father Eustáquio spoke of God's willingness to heal people holistically. Whenever possible, he recommended natural remedies that were easy to obtain and safe to use.

In Patrocínio-MG, according to some accounts, the priest stayed for 4 months, between October 1941 and February 1942.

From now on, every year on August 30th, Patrocínio will officially commemorate this great man of faith who spread health, peace, and love wherever he went.
