With the goal of integrating young people participating in the journey towards the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, the first "Confirmation Gathering" was held last weekend. The event took place about a month after the start of the formation for the teenagers who will receive the Sacrament at the end of the year.
The Confirmation program at the Sanctuary currently has five classes with approximately 30 confirmands each. The event was a time of relaxation, prayer, and sharing among the young people from all the classes.
Moments of praise and prayer were interspersed with a shared snack. To conclude the meeting, Holy Mass was celebrated, where the confirmands were presented to the community and received the Crucifixes of the Sacred Hearts donated by our parish.
During the meeting, the young people witnessed the testimony of Jader Rocha, 32, who received the Sacrament last year and emphasized how much, even as an adult, it made a difference in his life. Currently, he is a catechist for the Sunday school group and described what motivated him to be there, in addition to highlighting the importance of maintaining our focus on drawing closer to God every day.
