Father Eustáquio had a special affection for Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, canonized in 1925. In one of the writings left by the Blessed, he speaks a little about devotion to Saint Thérèse. Read below:
Devotion to Saint Therese
Just as a new star is discovered from time to time, so our Mother Church shows us from time to time a new Saint – a new Holy Woman – who not only serves as our guide in this vale of tears but also as an intercessor and helper.
This new Saint is Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus. This Saint we can call so miraculous that in a short time she filled the world with miracles, and these miracles are so convincing that they leave no one in doubt; on the contrary, they are so attractive that they leave no one, except the most determined, unable to seek her powerful protection.
And everyone needs protection, because man in all his weakness is not capable of protecting himself, nor is the protection of his neighbor of any use to him; he must ask for help, for more valuable protection, namely from a Saint, who represents God.
So let us turn to Thérèse, the great miracle worker. Let us turn to Thérèse, the Saint of Roses. Let us turn to Thérèse, who is ready to help us!
