The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts is a religious community that currently has over a thousand Brothers and Sisters present in more than 30 countries. The SSCC family also includes an associated Secular Branch. Some of the best-known members of this family are Blessed Father Eustace, missionary of Health and Peace, and Saint Damien of Veuster, canonized in 2009, apostle to the lepers on the island of Molokai, Hawaii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In some countries the Congregation is known by the name \u201cPicpus\u201d, after the Rue de Picpus in Paris, France, where the central house was established shortly after its founding. The French provincial house of the Sisters is still there, as is a group of Brothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congregation's mission can be summarized as: contemplating, living, and proclaiming the Love of God made flesh in Jesus, especially through Eucharistic Adoration and service to the most needy. Founded on Christmas Eve of 1800 by Father Coudrin and Mother Henriqueta, the Congregation unites with the entire Church for a more fraternal world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congregation arrived in Brazil in 1925 with the arrival of Father Eust\u00e1quio, Father Gil, and Father Matias, and was officially founded years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
