Father Eustace&#039;s home was no different. Guilherme van Lieshout and Elizabete van den Meulenhof alternated between work and prayer in raising their eleven children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hubertus van Lieshout, Father Eustace&#039;s birth name, was born on the morning of November 3, 1890, and on the same day, he was taken to be baptized in the church near his home. The family was so religious that three of his sisters decided to become nuns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-medium is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.padreeustaquio.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-01-10-at-10.27.55-1-300x199.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7925\" width=\"221\" height=\"147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.padreeustaquio.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-01-10-at-10.27.55-1-300x199.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.padreeustaquio.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-01-10-at-10.27.55-1-1024x681.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.padreeustaquio.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-01-10-at-10.27.55-1-768x511.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.padreeustaquio.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-01-10-at-10.27.55-1.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 221px) 100vw, 221px\" \/><figcaption>Father Eust\u00e1quio and two of his three sister nuns.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As a child, Eustace read about the life of Damien de Veuster, a priest of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, who had gone on a mission to an island in Hawaii where lepers were kept. The man, who would later be known as Saint Damien of Molokai, lived on the island for 16 years and died of leprosy. This example led young Hubb, as he was called at school, to decide to enter the seminary shortly before his 15th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 10, 1919, he was ordained a priest and became Father Eust\u00e1quio van Lieshout, ss.cc. Many people tell of miraculous cures granted by God through the intercession of Father Eust\u00e1quio, a man who truly lived his faith intensely, with all the virtues of a blessed one, and for this he was elevated to the list of the Blessed of the Church, which now anxiously awaits his canonization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>O pequeno distrito de Aarle Rixtel, ao norte da Holanda, era composto por muitas fam\u00edlias que extra\u00edam do campo o sustento dos filhos.
