Oh, that all homes, in cities and in the countryside, would imitate the apostles, saying: \u201cLord, teach us to pray!\u201d Oh, if we had a people who prayed, the social question would be solved quickly. We would no longer need so many fighters against evil, because all Catholics would be intimately united in prayer; our adversaries would not strive so hard to destroy us, because joined hands are more powerful than two-edged swords, than clenched fists of hatred. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Just as the Amalekites were driven out by the prayer of Moses, so too would our enemies be driven out if we wield spiritual weapons.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n It is true that Our Lord said: \u201cWithout Me, you can do nothing.\u201d Neither Catholic Action, nor Crusades, nor Marian devotion, are of any use if God does not help. And for Him to help, it is necessary to ask. \u201cAsk and you shall receive.\u201d. You must pray with perseverance like the blind man of Jericho. When they told him not to shout so loudly to Our Lord, he began to speak louder and more insistently. You must pray with confidence, like that woman in the Gospel, who was not Jewish and asked for the crumbs that fell from the table. You must pray with abandonment to God's will, which always aims for what is best for us.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n When should you pray? Without interruption.
