In addition to the challenge of internet broadcasts and celebrations held at the Health and Peace Sanctuary, another issue that came to light was the assistance the parish provides to the more than 100 families served monthly by the Ladies of Charity and the 260 children at the Padre Eust\u00e1quio Daycare Center. Besides those regularly served, the church began organizing itself to assist new families of unemployed people, homeless individuals, and informal workers who, due to social isolation measures, lost their income.<\/p>\n

Given the inability of the elderly ladies, who are traditionally responsible for welcoming and distributing food and other aid to needy families, the brothers of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts who live in the provincial house and those who reside in the formation houses have taken on the task of preparing and directly contacting those in need.<\/p>\n

Even the internal life of the Congregation took on a very different rhythm because of the isolation. On the one hand, experiencing the intensification of the close-knit community required by the total care of the house with all the domestic chores and attention to the elderly brothers and sisters, and at the same time the classes at the theology college began to be held online, maintaining the school rhythm.<\/p>\n
We would like to highlight the work of Brother Antoniel, who is especially dedicated to making the symbolic and necessary protective instrument that masks are, to guarantee Health and Peace.<\/p>\n
During this time of pandemic, may we ask God, through the intercession of Blessed Father Eustace, to always grant us: "Health and Peace.".<\/p>\n
