March 27th is celebrated by the religious members of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts as the day of their Founder, Father Jos\u00e9 Maria Pierre Coudrin, affectionately known as "Good Father." It is a time to remember his capacity to embrace the "quarantines" he encountered throughout his life.<\/p>\n
First, shortly after his ordination, he had to remain hidden in an attic in "La Motte d'Usseau" because of the persecution during the French Revolution, a prolonged confinement that allowed him to dream of a Congregation that would take the Gospel to the whole world.<\/p>\n
Similarly, the Foundress, Mother Henrietta Aymer de la Chevalerie, the "Good Mother," lived through her own quarantine along with her mother, imprisoned and persecuted by the Revolution for their fidelity to the Church, where she experienced poverty and how God speaks to those who make themselves poor.<\/p>\n
We hope that this time of isolation, combined with Lent, will lead us to be truly in solidarity with those who live immersed in loneliness, uncertainty, and need. As we return to our own personal Galilee, let us renew our commitment to dedication and generosity, following the example of our Founders, who risked their lives for their faithfulness to God's Love.<\/p>\n
Let us feel united as a family in these moments. In our daily worship we will meet with one another, presenting to the Lord the tears of our world and the suffering of so many crucified people today.<\/p>\n
