In 2006, with the Beatification of Father Eust\u00e1quio, the community and devotees wished to prepare a special space for prayer, reflection, and veneration for the newly Blessed. Attached to the Sacred Hearts Parish Church in Belo Horizonte, where his tomb had been located since 1949, a beautiful memorial was built with architecture inspired by the top of the church tower. The works lasted a year and a half and were completed with the contribution of the community.<\/p>\n
During the Novena in preparation for the 1st Feast of Blessed Father Eust\u00e1quio in 2007, on August 28th, the Memorial was inaugurated. There was a Mass, presided over by the then auxiliary bishop of Belo Horizonte, Alo\u00edsio Pena Vitral; the transfer of Father Eust\u00e1quio's mortal remains and the blessing of the place.<\/p>\n
In an atmosphere of peace and prayer, those who visit the Memorial experience a little of Father Eust\u00e1quio's life. The stained glass windows, designed by artist Maria In\u00eas Asinelli in Curitiba-PR, depict the Blessed's missionary life in the light of the Beatitudes.<\/p>\n
In the center, where Father Eust\u00e1quio's remains rest, a large rough stone symbolizes human life, which, when hewn, is able to achieve holiness. This cutting is represented by a pyramid with seven faces, each representing a Gift of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Science, Piety and Fear of God. At the tip of the pyramid is an image of Father Eust\u00e1quio, the symbol of this holiness.<\/p>\n
Also composing the atmosphere of peace and prayer, the Holy Trinity is depicted on the ceiling: the hands of God, the cross of Christ and the dove of the Holy Spirit. The light in the center shows the transforming power that comes from above. And in the gardens, there is a majestic bronze image of the Blessed, donated by Father Eust\u00e1quio's nephews who live in Holland and visit the place every year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
