Starting this Wednesday, November 9th, the midday Eucharistic Celebration (12:00 PM) every Wednesday will include the blessing of medicinal branches. Since last month, devotees participating in this Mass have already received the blessing of Health and Peace individually through the laying on of priestly hands.

From Tuesday to Friday, the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio in Belo Horizonte, already celebrates Holy Mass at noon, but it is on Wednesdays that the individual blessing takes place. Father Alexandre Campos Leite, SSCC, has been leading these moments of prayer and has been performing the blessing with the laying on of hands. Starting tomorrow, he will also give the blessing with the sprinkling of holy water on the medicinal branches.

Some tea bags containing herbs suitable for teas and infusions will be available, but those who wish may bring their own plants and leaves to be blessed. Those who use any medication may also bring their medicines to be blessed by the priest at the end of the service.

It is worth remembering that at all Masses at the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, there is a blessing through the intercession of Blessed Father Eustace. Normally, before the final blessing, the congregation is invited to turn their gaze to the image of Father Eustace in the presbytery and recite the prayer that he himself used when blessing the sick, but, for now, only at the Wednesday Masses at 12 pm will there be a blessing of medicinal branches and individual blessings with the laying on of hands by the priest.
