Volunteers organize themselves to make the Corpus Christi carpets.

Led by Brother Wanderson Souza, ss.cc, volunteers from the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace, the Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio, began designing the carpets that will be made on Corpus Christi Day. In addition, many people have mobilized to obtain enough material to cover the entire entrance to the church square.

Since last week, the church has been receiving donations of sawdust, checkered paint, coffee grounds, and even food to be served to the volunteers who will be working on making the carpets. The work has already begun, and more than 100 meters of fabric have already been purchased to cover the area where the carpets will be assembled.

This week, many people helped design the figures that will make up the route. Even a visual artist will help with the work, which this year will include a silhouette of Father Eustáquio and an image of Saint Damien of Molokai. At the weekend, children and young people from movements and pastoral groups of the Sanctuary will dye the sawdust that will be used to color the square in front of the church.

The Corpus Christi procession will take place this Thursday, June 16th, after the 3 PM Eucharistic Celebration, where the entire Church will commemorate the Body and Blood of Jesus. Also on the 16th, the Padre Eustáquio Channel will be broadcasting a special program. It will be the second edition of "Music and Prayer," this time with the theme "Behold the Mystery of Faith." Silvana Felício and Gustavo Cosenzzo will sing songs in praise and adoration of the Eucharistic Christ. The program begins at 8 PM on the Padre Eustáquio Channel.
