A partnership between students from the School of Music at UEMG (University of the State of Minas Gerais) and the Sanctuary of Health and Peace has been enchanting children from public schools in the northwest region of Belo Horizonte. The project brings music and musical knowledge to the students.

Around 20 musicians from UEMG performed this week in the Main Hall of the Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio, in the capital of Minas Gerais. The concert was performed for more than 100 students from public schools located in the northwest region of Belo Horizonte, where the Sanctuary of Health and Peace is located. The musicians' repertoire ranged from classical music to children's songs, which are very familiar to the children.
During the presentation, boys and girls were also able to ask questions and clear up doubts about the instruments, the music, and how an orchestra works. The conductor also took the opportunity to explain and teach content related to the musical world, such as rhythm, harmony, and the various types of sounds.
The performances take place once a year and were interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the return of the concert for the students, the group will also perform again for the community on December 13th, at 8:30 pm, right after Holy Mass, at the Padre Eustáquio Church.
