On August 30th of this year, the Church will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of Father Eustáquio. The priest died in 1943 in the capital of Minas Gerais, a victim of spotted fever. The vice-postulation, which oversees the Cause of Canonization of the Blessed, plans to schedule events throughout the year.
The launch of the “80 Years of Health and Peace” initiative will take place at the end of the month with the celebration of Holy Mass and individual blessings with the laying on of hands. The Mass will be broadcast on TV Evangelizar, a free-to-air channel, nationwide.
In addition to the launch, a trip to Father Eustáquio's house in the Netherlands is being planned. The trip is open to the entire population and is being organized by the vice-postulator, Father Vinícius Maciel, in partnership with a tourism agency in Belo Horizonte. The month of August, when there is a specific liturgy on the 30th, should have a vast program of masses, rosaries, lectures, adorations and tributes to the Blessed.
The full schedule will be released throughout the months as the dates approach, here on our website and on social media @beatopadreeustaquio.
