On the day the Church celebrates the Passion and Death of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the young people of the Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio in Belo Horizonte come together to enact and experience the Stations of the Cross. The Passion Play, as it is known, has been performed for several years and attracts the attention of thousands of faithful.
Although spearheaded by the youth of the EJC (Youth Encounter with Christ) and Confirmation classes, the Passion of Christ reenactment unites the entire community, counting on the participation and collaboration of other members of the Sacred Hearts Parish in Belo Horizonte. Typically, nearly 100 people are directly involved in the creation, production, staging, and broadcasting of the theatrical piece.
The scenes are performed inside the Sanctuary for a large crowd. Last year, approximately 1,200 people attended the theatrical performance in the church, and thousands more were able to watch it via the Padre Eustáquio Channel. This year, expectations are no different; in addition to a full church, the YouTube channel anticipates viewership and participation from many spectators.
The volunteer actors, who are not professionals in the field, give a masterful performance. At various moments, it's possible to feel the emotion of those watching closely.
This year, the Theater will present 18 scenes, from Jesus' childhood to his crucifixion and death. Everything will be broadcast live on the Padre Eustáquio Channel., CLICK HERE And send the link to your friends and family so they can follow along too.
Live this week intensely and prepare well for Christ's Easter.
