The Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace will celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception this Thursday, December 8th. The church has scheduled three Mass times to accommodate the faithful: at 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 7:00 PM.
The 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM services will be broadcast on the Padre Eustáquio Channel. Everyone is invited to participate in person, while maintaining all necessary hygiene and safety precautions. The Sanctuary also recommends the use of masks for everyone's protection.
The Immaculate Conception
The dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is one of the dogmas most dear to the hearts of the Christian people. The dogmas of the Church are truths that never change, that strengthen the faith we carry within us, and that we never renounce.
The conviction of the complete purity of the Mother of God, Mary, that is, this dogma, was defined in 1854 by Pope Pius IX through the bull "Ineffabilis Deus," but before that, popular devotion to the Immaculate Conception of Mary was already widespread. The feast already existed in the East and in southern Italy, then dominated by the Byzantines, since the 7th century.
