The Solemnity of Pentecost will have a special program at the Sanctuary.

Next Sunday, May 28th, the Church celebrates Pentecost. This solemnity is Celebrated fifty days after Easter. A Christian festival that originates from the liturgy of the Jews who celebrated the harvest festival. It was also called the Feast of Weeks, as it took place seven weeks after Passover.

For Christians, the celebration of Pentecost is marked by the narrative in the book of Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2, the moment when Christ's apostles receive the Holy Spirit. “"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." (Acts 2:1-4).

At the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace, Pentecost Sunday and the eve of Pentecost will be marked by special celebrations.
