The importance of daily Bible reading

Do you have the habit of reading and meditating on the Bible? No? Well, know that this should be a rule for all Christians: to read the Holy Scriptures daily.

Just as you feed your body every day, your spirit also needs to be fed. And there's nothing better than feeding it with the Word of God. We often find the Holy Scriptures difficult to read, but it is God's will that we consume them without fear.

In Matthew 4:4 we can see how vital the Holy Scripture is to our lives: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." In all situations of our lives, good or bad, we find in it a word of encouragement, wisdom, and strength.

Father Eustáquio understood the importance of reading the Bible throughout his life, so much so that he left behind a beautiful text about it:

“Divine Love overflows and gushes from every page of the Gospel, and it is to be seen and felt how it is depicted in all the figures and parables, exhaled from every sentence, bursting forth from every cry and action of God the pilgrim, out of love. If you tell your brothers that, from the first to the last page of this divine book, everything is light and hope, it is, above all, because it is all love.”

If you don't already have the habit of daily Bible reading, start by reading short verses. Over time, your spirit will crave more, and reading the Holy Scriptures will become a habit in your life.
