On this day, July 30th, the Blessed Father Eustace Community, belonging to the Blessed Father Eustace Parish in Esmeraldas (MG), celebrated the Votive Mass in honor of the Blessed, bringing together faithful from the community itself and also from other parish communities in a moment of prayer, devotion and strengthening of faith.
The celebration was presided over by the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio, Father Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc., and concelebrated by Father Dalvinei.
During the Mass, participants were able to see up close two important objects linked to the history of Blessed Father Eustace. The first was the official Vatican document recognizing his beatification, proclaimed in 2006. The second was a work produced in 1943, painted on a pillowcase. The piece was made by Father Eustace himself for the Good Friday reflections, since at that time he did not possess the traditional Veil of Veronica used in the celebration.
In his homily, Father Vinícius highlighted the importance of bringing the life and mission of Blessed Father Eustáquio to an ever-increasing number of communities and cities, so that his devotion may continue to grow and reach new hearts.
The priest also highlighted the faith of the Esmeraldas community, which, even without having lived with the Missionary of Health and Peace, keeps his memory alive and cultivates a deep devotion to the Blessed One.
The celebration was broadcast on the Padre Eustáquio Channel and can be viewed here.
