Last week, the Superior General of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, Fr. Alberto Toutin, ss.cc., and the Vice-Superior, Derek Laverty, ss.cc., visited the Monastery of Saint Agatha, where the archives of more than 115 male and female congregations in the Netherlands are located. They toured the archives and spoke with those responsible for the collection to learn more about all the material stored there.
Next, Toutin and Laverty visited the city of Aarle-Rixtel, also in the Netherlands, where Blessed Father Eustace was born. On September 5th, they visited a bronze sculpture placed outside the church. The work was commissioned by Father Eustace's nephews, Will and Joke van den Boomen. It was designed and crafted by the Brazilian artist Edu Santos. See photos of the visit to the Netherlands.
