Blessed Father Eustace is remembered not only for his pastoral dedication and charity, but also for numerous accounts of graces attributed to his intercession and incredible stories, both during his life and after his death.
These stories, carefully documented by the Church, reinforce his reputation for holiness and his legacy of "Health and Peace." Check out one of these accounts here:
“In the village of Rio das Pedras (Cascalho Rico), there is a true story of bilocation. During the missions that Father Eustáquio preached there, he supposedly reprimanded a woman because of her attire, asking her to leave the church. The woman left, cursing him. Upon arriving home, she was very surprised to find Father Eustáquio waiting for her again. Impressed by this, she sent a neighbor to the church to check if that priest was still preaching, as he had just begun a sermon. While she was talking to Father Eustáquio, the neighbor confirmed that, indeed, a priest was preaching in the church. It was him, and therefore he was in two places at the same time!“
This account is one of the testimonies given by Father Venâncio Hulselmans, ss.cc, in 1944, for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustáquio.
The accounts attributed to Blessed Father Eustace not only reinforce his devotion among the faithful, but also inspire faith and hope in times of difficulty. These testimonies are a vivid reminder of the power of prayer and the intercession of the saints in the lives of those who believe.
