Statue of Father Eustáquio is unveiled in the Netherlands.

A grand celebration marked the unveiling of the statue in honor of Blessed Father Eustace in the Netherlands. The monument was placed in one of the squares of Aarle-Rixtel, Father Eustace's birthplace, where the church in which the Blessed was baptized is located.

The inauguration took place last Sunday and began with a mass celebrated at the Blessed Father Eustace Church, followed by a group dressed in traditional costumes, paying homage to the Blessed. Everyone then proceeded to the square and participated in the unveiling of the ribbon and cloth, revealing the bronze statue made by the Brazilian artist, Edu Santos.

The event was attended by the bishop of the local diocese and Mayor Frank van den Meijden. The statue was commissioned by Father Eustace's nephews, Will and Joke van den Boomen, and shipped to the Netherlands. Days earlier, a private ceremony for Father Eustace's family was held during the arrival and placement of the statue in the square.

The Brazilian artist's work was completed in May of this year. See the article that was done at the time with Edu Santos.

Immediately after the ceremony, a snack was offered to residents and visitors. All the proceeds raised that day will be donated to the Padre Eustáquio Daycare Center here in Brazil, fulfilling a request from the nephews of the Dutch priest.
