The devotees of Father Eustáquio, along with the community, wanted to build a space for prayer, reflection, and veneration of the newly named Blessed. It was with this in mind that the idea of constructing a memorial dedicated to the Dutch priest arose.

Construction began in March 2006, 16 years ago, and the vice-postulator responsible for the project at the time was Father Lúcio Dumont Prado, sscc. The work lasted a year and a half and was inaugurated in August of the following year, in a celebration presided over by the then auxiliary bishop of Belo Horizonte, Dom Aloísio Pena Vitral. Present were priests of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts and family members of Father Eustáquio, who transported the urn containing the mortal remains of the Blessed.
At the end of the celebration, the priests of the Congregation transported the relics to the new memorial.
The Padre Eustáquio memorial is today a point of reference for devotees of the Blessed. The mortal remains of the Blessed are located there, and through the stained-glass windows, it is possible to follow a part of the Blessed's life. The faithful seek the place to say their prayers and find peace and solace in such a fast-paced world.
If you haven't yet visited the Padre Eustáquio Memorial, come and visit this place of pilgrimage. The Memorial is attached to the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte. It is open to the public every day from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
