Prayers at Father Eustáquio Church mark two years since the tragedy in Brumadinho.

This Monday, January 25, 2021, marked two years since the collapse of the Vale dam in the community of Córrego do Feijão, in Brumadinho, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. During the Holy Mass, celebrated in the chapel of the Provincial House of the Sacred Hearts, broadcast by the Padre Eustáquio Channel, the victims were remembered and included in the intentions of the celebration.

Last year, a memorial was set up at the Sanctuary's Community Center by a team from the Sacred Hearts parish. Featuring a photo of the 272 victims of the disaster (270 confirmed deaths and two unborn babies) and an altar marking the exact time of the dam collapse, the space pays homage to all those affected and, especially, to those who lost their lives on January 25, 2019.

The space was open to visitors during the months of January and February.
