Around 30 people left Poá, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, and spent the weekend on a pilgrimage in Minas Gerais. During the holiday, the devotees climbed the Serra da Piedade and visited the Sanctuary of the Patron Saint of the State, Our Lady of Piedade, in Caeté.
On Saturday, the faithful arrived early at the Health and Peace Sanctuary, spent a moment in prayer and reflection at the Memorial where the Relics of Blessed Father Eustace are kept. Afterwards, they went to the Museum inside the church and had a unique moment: the devotees had the opportunity to touch one of the habits that belonged to Blessed Father Eustace. A moment of emotion and profound spirituality.
The pilgrims also visited the room at Alberto Cavalcanti Hospital where Father Eustáquio spent his last moments on earth and, soon after, went to the Cristo Rei Chapel, the site of the priest's first celebrations in Belo Horizonte.
In the afternoon they visited tourist attractions in the capital of Minas Gerais and on Sunday they participated in Holy Mass at the Health and Peace Sanctuary, celebrated by the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization, Fr. Marcus Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc.
Back in Poá, the pilgrims are already thinking about sharing their experiences in Belo Horizonte with other residents of the city. To that end, the city's Padre Eustáquio Museum, coordinated by Delcimar Ferreira, will organize a meeting to share these experiences.
