Members of the IAM – Missionary Childhood and Adolescence of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, participated last weekend in the 8th Archdiocesan Bate-latas Meeting. The event was held at the São Gabriel Parish, in the Taquaril neighborhood, in the eastern region of Belo Horizonte.
Approximately 35 people, including children, teenagers, and coordinators from the IAM – Padre Eustáquio, attended the archdiocesan event. In addition to our Sanctuary, five other parishes also sent participants: Our Lady of Aparecida Parish (Camargos neighborhood); Saint Jude Thaddeus Parish (Palmeiras neighborhood); Saint Joseph Parish (from the city of São José da Lapa); Our Lady of Aparecida Parish (Boa Vista neighborhood); and Saint Sebastian Parish (Betânia neighborhood).
On the morning of last Sunday, hundreds of children and teenagers gathered at the São Gabriel Parish to celebrate the Eucharist together and, immediately afterwards, went out into the streets of the Taquaril neighborhood, in a way to show the joy of the little evangelizers and to draw the attention of the local community to participation in Church movements.
Finally, the children, parents, and coordinators shared a moment of exchanging experiences with artistic presentations, testimonies, and a message of mission. The Missionary Tin Can Drumming event is a widespread activity in the Missionary Childhood and Adolescence (IAM) groups, aiming to give visibility to the IAM work present in the community and to strengthen the missionary experience of children, adolescents, and advisors.
