Representatives from pastoral groups, movements, collaborators, and volunteers of the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace met this Wednesday (July 27th) to define pastoral, liturgical, and community actions for the 2022 Padre Eustáquio Festival. The meeting took place at the Padre Eustáquio Theater, attached to the church. The program for this year will be presented based on this meeting.
The meeting, led by the rector of the Sanctuary and head of the Cause for Canonization, Father Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc, began with prayer and the presentation of the topics to be discussed by the parish community. Following this, each participant could contribute ideas and directions that would be transformed into a comprehensive and extensive program.
The main idea of the meeting was to decentralize the celebration on August 30th, giving parishioners and visitors the opportunity to pray and celebrate the patron saint throughout the month. Furthermore, the expansion of devotion from the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood to the entire country was one of the main topics discussed.
The points already defined in the program are: the launch of the festival, next Saturday, with the distribution of a small poster for families to place on their doors, demonstrating their union with the entire church in celebrating the memory of the Blessed. In addition to the novena, beginning on August 21st, it was also decided that the Day of Our Lady of the Abbey of Água Suja will be celebrated on the second weekend of the month, with a three-day period of prayer on the 12th, 13th, and 14th, concluding with celebrations on the holiday of August 15th.
Guest choirs, artistic performances, processions, masses, and worship services will also be part of this year's celebrations. The full program will be released soon.
