The Padre Eustáquio Theater, attached to the Health and Peace Sanctuary in Belo Horizonte, will host a training course for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion over four Saturdays. The first day of training was last weekend, February 12th.
Approximately 200 people participated in the first meeting. They are parishioners from the São Francisco das Chagas Deanery, Nossa Senhora da Esperança episcopal region, which belongs to the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte.
The idea behind the meeting is to offer new ministers biblical, theological, liturgical, and pastoral foundations for the Extraordinary Ministry of Holy Communion. The training session was led by pastoral advisor and representative of the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte, Daniel Reis. The theologian guided the work based on documents from the Catholic Church made available by the Holy See, the CNBB (National Conference of Bishops of Brazil), and the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte.
The next meeting will be held on February 19th, also at the Padre Eustáquio Theater.
