Leaders of the Sacred Hearts Formation in Latin America meet in Peru.

From May 20th to 24th, the Meeting of Formators of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Latin America took place. The meeting was held in Lima, Peru, and was attended by 17 formators from various countries including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru.

The Brazilian trainers Father Edmar Oliveira, Father Silvano Ávila, Father Antônio Lemos, and Father Ricardo Silva (who lives in Lima, Peru) formed the Brazilian delegation at the meeting. The organization was handled by Brothers Enrique Ramírez, Sandro Mancilla, and Paulino Colque. The meeting also included the presence of Vicar General Derek Laverty, SS.CC.

There, topics such as the use of psychological skills, the pastoral path during formation, admission to the interprovincial novitiate, and preparation for perpetual vows were discussed. This meeting is held every three years with the aim of developing common criteria for the initial formation processes of the Congregation in Latin America.

Alberto Toutin, Superior General, spent the final day sharing the General Government's vision on formation. In his words, he encouraged the religious to continue speaking within the framework of international values and the pursuit of quality training. He also reminded them of the value of formation as a place to create a renewed religious life in dialogue with our world. "I encourage you to love, to put love into our task of building fraternal communities that accompany our young brothers as Jesus loved us," Toutin concluded during the closing Mass.
