The executive committee of the Interprovincial Conference of Latin America (CIAL) met in Lima, Peru, from May 29 to 31. The committee of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts is composed of representatives from the Andean provinces (Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Puerto Rico), Brazil, Chile and Mexico, the regional representatives from Paraguay, and the coordinators of initial and ongoing formation.
During the meeting, reports on initial formation in Latin America were received, and discussions were held regarding possible changes to the structure of CIAL and the interprovincial initial formation houses. The organization of the Conference's upcoming activities was also discussed.
Father Sérgio Stein, sscc, Provincial of Brazil, participated in the meeting. The Superior General and the Vicar General of the Congregation were also present, and took the opportunity to speak a little more about the life of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts around the world.
