“"Ladies of Charity" – group launches campaign to collect food donations.

The 140 families registered with the "Ladies of Charity" group will receive their usual monthly food baskets next Wednesday, the 27th. However, the group has not yet managed to collect enough food to fill all the baskets.

The distribution of food, cleaning supplies, and clothing to needy families always takes place in the third week of each month and includes various items. Fortunately, the cleaning products and clothing collected are already sufficient for the families, but the food items that make up the basic food basket are still not enough.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Ladies of Charity can deliver their donation to the Secretariat of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace and state that it is for the Ladies of Charity. The secretariat is open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 5 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, it is open from 8 am to 11:30 am.

The Ladies of Charity

Conceived by Blessed Father Eustace in the early 1940s in Belo Horizonte, the work of helping the poor has always been a great concern of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts and the entire parish community. Father Eustace always helped those most in need with food, work, paying overdue bills, or with his prayers and spiritual guidance. After his death in 1942, the work continued with the community's volunteers, who would later become the "Ladies of Charity".

To register families, the Ladies visit people to find out if they really need help and "what" they need. Currently, there are 140 registered families who receive food, medicine, clothing, or other basic necessities monthly.
