Father Lúcio Dumont Prado was the vice-postulator responsible for the construction of the Father Eustáquio Memorial. The works, which began in 2006, lasted a year and a half and relied on contributions from the community to be completed.
The idea was to give the community and devotees of Blessed Eustace a space for prayer, veneration, and reflection. The memorial is located next to the Health and Peace Sanctuary, where Father Eustace's tomb had been since 1949.
In one of his homilies at the Health and Peace Sanctuary, Father Lúcio gave a brief description of the Memorial's significance:
In the center, where Father Eustáquio's remains rest, a large rough stone symbolizes human life, which, when hewn, is able to achieve holiness. This cutting is represented by a pyramid with seven faces, each representing a Gift of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Science, Piety and Fear of God. At the tip of the pyramid is an image of Father Eustáquio, the symbol of this holiness.
The entire project was closely monitored by Father Lúcio, and the inauguration took place on August 28, 2007, during the first celebration of Father Eustáquio's as a Blessed.
