Image of Blessed Father Eustáquio is welcomed at the parish of Our Lady of Patronage.

Custom-made by the visual artist Luiz Branco in Curitiba-PR, the new image of the Blessed One is 1.30 meters tall and boasts perfect features and a serene gaze. This unique piece, in proportions never before seen in Brazil, will be enthroned in the Santa Luzia Church at the end of August during the feast of Father Eustáquio.

Father Artur Oliveira, parish vicar, explained at the Holy Mass opening the Jericho Siege yesterday (August 11th) that the reason for welcoming the image to the Main Church is due to the fact that when the kind Father Eustáquio arrived in Patrocínio, one of the first places he visited was the Main Church and knelt before the image of Saint Joseph, the saint to whom he had a special devotion.

“Patrocínio deserved an image that was proportional to the size of the faith of so many people in Padre Eustáquio. An image that began as a grace. We didn't have the resources to carry out this work. We asked Padre Eustáquio and he took care of everything from heaven. A person of good faith generously donated the amount we needed,” explained the vicar.

The parish of Nossa Senhora do Patrocínio feels privileged and grateful for the new image as well as the first and second degree relics of Father Eustáquio received on the occasion of the reopening of the Santa Luzia Church, which will be on display inside the church as soon as possible.

The new image of Blessed Eustace arrived in Patrocínio exactly one day after the celebrations of the centenary of his priestly ordination and will be on display for the veneration of the faithful in the Parish Church until the end of August, at which time it will be transferred to the Church of Saint Lucy, the place where, during his lifetime, this Blessed exercised his priestly ministry among us.
