During the cataloging of the belongings of Blessed Father Eustace, a very special letter was found. It is a testimony written by Father Vítor Coelho de Almeida, C.Ss.R., Father Vítor of Aparecida, himself, about a grace received through the intercession of Blessed Father Eustace.
In the letter, Father Vítor recounts that in May 1941, he was suffering from tuberculosis, with no hope of a cure, a huge lesion in his right lung, and was declared incurable by doctors.
At the time, he had a meeting with Father Eustáquio and asked him to pray to Saint Joseph for his healing, if it was for the good, and for two other personal requests he had. The Blessed One placed his finger on Father Vítor's chest, right where the injury was, even though no one had told him where the problem was located, and said: "Saint Joseph, grant you these two graces, and know that you will be a very robust man.".
On three more occasions, Father Vítor repeated the same request to the Blessed One and received the same response. Months later, Father Vítor began to experience a slow and natural healing process.
The letter was typed by the priest and, years later, supplemented with handwritten notes by him, along with his signature. Father Vítor emphasizes that, after his healing, he worked for 12 years on missions in the city of Aparecida, in the northern region of the state of São Paulo.
And, in a handwritten footnote dated 1983, Father Vítor reiterates that 40 years after his encounter with Blessed Father Eustáquio, he was well and in good health, still carrying out missions and presenting programs on Radio Aparecida.
