Father Vítor Henrique Borges, ss.cc, will celebrate the first Mass at the Sanctuary of Health and Peace, Church of Blessed Father Eustáquio. The celebration will be today, November 25th, at 7 PM.
Father Vítor received the sacrament of Holy Orders last Saturday, the 19th, at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, São Damião de Molokai Parish, in Patrocínio-MG. The celebration was presided over by the diocesan bishop of Patos de Minas, Dom Cláudio Nori Sturm, OFM.
The mass will be open to the public. Those outside of Belo Horizonte can follow the celebration on the Padre Eustáquio YouTube channel.
Father Vítor Borges, SSCC
Vitor Henrique Borges, ss.cc., was born in Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, on November 23, 1992. He is the son of João Silvestres Borges and Aura Alves Araújo Borges. In 2014, he entered the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. He completed his novitiate in 2017 in Chaclacayo, Lima, Peru, and professed his first vows on January 27, 2018, at the Chapel of Casa Anchieta in Boracéia, São Paulo. He studied philosophy and theology at the Jesuit Faculty (FAJE) in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, graduating in 2020. The following year, he was appointed to the religious community of Patrocínio, where he professed his perpetual vows on December 27, 2021. From February to July of this year, he lived in the religious community of Asunción, Paraguay, on mission at the Salvador del Mundo Parish. He was ordained a deacon on May 10, 2022, at the Santa Catalina de Siena Parish in Paraguay. Since July, he has been serving pastorally at the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Parish in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro.
