The ceremony, presided over by Cardinal Dom Orani João Tempesta, O. Cist, Metropolitan Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, was held last Saturday, October 2nd, and was attended by family, friends, and brothers of the Congregation from various parts of the country. Father Jorge Felipe de Oliveira Campos, ss.cc., received the sacrament of Holy Orders in the parish where he was born (Our Lady of the Conception), in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro.
The Holy Mass lasted about an hour and a half and could be followed on Rede Vida Television (O Rio Celebra), on the social media channels of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição parish, and on the Padre Eustáquio Channel., REVIEW HERE.
Jorge Felipe de Oliveira Campos was born in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro. Son of Nelson Portes Campos and Mônica Serafim de Oliveira, he joined the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in July 2009. He completed his Novitiate in 2012 in Chile and professed his first vows on January 6, 2013, at the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Parish in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro.
In 2015 he lived in the religious community of Catuji-MG, where he completed his pastoral year. In 2016 he was sent to the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte, and on August 15, 2017, he professed his perpetual vows.
In December 2019 he completed his Theology studies and, the following year, was sent to Paraguay, to the community of Fernando de la Mora. On November 12, 2020, he was ordained a deacon, returning to Brazil five months later to serve at the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Parish in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro, where he remains to this day.
