Jesus was born and we were given a Savior. Joy filled our hearts because we are not alone. God caused his beloved son to be born from the womb of Mary, our Lady and our Mother, to bring hope and new life to all who believe in Him.
Let us praise God, our Lord, and Jesus our Savior! On this day when Christ arrives, Blessed Father Eustace leaves us a beautiful text with a reflection on Christmas. Read it in full:
“"Today a Savior is born to you. Come, faithful ones, come all to share in the joy of his birth. Righteous ones, rejoice, the Holy of Holies is born to restore love for the innocence and virtue of the world. Take comfort, sinners, receive the sure hope of obtaining forgiveness for your sins, for a Savior is born to you who will deliver his people from all sin.".
And you who groan amidst the miseries of the world that surround you on all sides, strike a blow against your groans, for a Comforter has been born to you who will alleviate all your sorrows, a physician who will heal all your wounds, a faithful guarantor who will take charge of your debts, a charitable friend who will take upon himself all your misfortunes.
Come, let us praise the Lord with joy, let us sing aloud the glory of God who is our help and salvation. Let us present this divine Child, celebrating His praises, let us make hymns and songs of joy resound beside the cradle of the newborn.
Rejoice, daughters of Zion; Jerusalem, let your joy resound, for today peace has descended upon the earth, the true light has illuminated the darkness of the world, and joy has spread throughout Israel with the birth of its king.“
