Will van den Boomen, nephew of Father Eustáquio, was in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro region, this week. The Dutchman is in Brazil to participate in the celebrations related to the birth of Blessed Father Eustáquio. Will is the son of Adriana, one of Father Eustáquio's younger sisters, and has always been very interested in his uncle's story. Last year, he was at the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte and attended the celebrations on August 30th. This time, Will arrived at the end of October and went to the Triângulo region where he is attending the commemorations in several cities.
In Uberaba, Father Eustáquio's nephew was able to visit the communities that bear his uncle's name and learn about the faith that moves the devotees. Will also spoke, with the help of an interpreter, with parishioners and with Father Geraldo, one of Father Eustáquio's greatest enthusiasts and devotees.
The Blessed One's nephew also visited the parish house and had coffee with the parishioners in a very relaxed conversation. During the Holy Mass, Father Geraldo highlighted the life of Father Eustáquio and spoke about the faith of Brazilians in the Missionary of Health and Peace.
After the celebrations, Will leaves for Belo Horizonte, where he meets with the vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization, Father Marcus Vinícius Maciel, ss.cc.
