An artisan from Poá, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, used her creativity to recreate Blessed Father Eustace in a crocheted doll, using the amigurumi technique.

Marisa Vieira is 38 years old and owns a crochet studio in Poá. A devotee of Padre Eustáquio, she was challenged by Father Reginaldo Martins da Silva, parish priest of the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes Church, which she attends, to make an amigurumi of the Blessed. As there were no patterns for the piece, she had to use her creativity and the result was incredible.
Marisa has been a craftswoman for 10 years, but during the pandemic she has dedicated herself more and more to making saints of the Catholic Church, using amigurumi, an ancient Japanese technique, to create crocheted and knitted dolls.
A devout follower of Father Eustáquio, making the amigurumi of the Blessed was very important to the artisan: “"I was immensely happy and grateful to have made Blessed Father Eustace and I thank him for all the blessings bestowed upon my family's life."”, said Marisa.
