Father Eustáquio joined the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts at a very young age and developed a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. His personal archives contain many devotional objects related to the Sacred Hearts, and especially numerous writings on the subject.
In one of these texts, the Blessed One speaks of how the Heart of Jesus is a source of grace for all of us, and how the Heart of Mary is the channel for this grace. The text offers a beautiful reflection that we invite you to read below:
The Sacred Hearts
Two hearts that we can never separate – the Heart of Jesus and the Heart of Mary. The Heart of Jesus is the source of grace, the Heart of Mary the channel of grace. And to be able to obtain grace from this source, we must have the conviction that we need to be continually in relationship with Mary and surrender ourselves totally to the Heart of Mary in order to belong to the Heart of Jesus. Mary is the blue firmament – the Heart of Jesus the sun that radiates its rays upon us – we want to take advantage of this sun – we must leave our own homes and be under the blue firmament – to take advantage of the clarity and warmth of this Sacred Heart. We must be Saints and Sanctifiers; without the grace of Christ we can do nothing, no fruit of apostolate without grace – God wanted us to have everything through Mary.
