Father Armín Pérez Díaz, ss.cc., was ordained this Sunday, October 11, 2020, at the "Health and Peace" Sanctuary, the church of Father Eustáquio, in Belo Horizonte. The celebration was presided over by the Archbishop Emeritus of Vitória-ES, Dom Luiz Mancilha Vilela, ss.cc.
Beginning at 10:00 AM (Brasilia time), the ceremony was broadcast live on the Padre Eustáquio YouTube Channel and could be followed by the new priest's family in Paraguay, his colleagues in Chile, his Superiors in Italy, as well as brothers spread around the world, such as in Spain and France, where there are houses of the Congregation.
After listening to the readings and the homily, Armín presented himself as the chosen one, prostrated himself during the Litany of the Saints, received the laying on of hands, anointing, and prayer from his fellow priests. The investiture of the priestly vestments was performed by the parish priests Fr. Sérgio Stein (also Provincial Superior) and Fr. Marcus Vinícius, formator of the Fourth Stage. At the end of the ordination, the new priest gave a beautiful speech with excerpts in Guarani (the official language of his homeland), Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, moving everyone present.
