Fifteen years ago, Father Eustáquio's name was inscribed on the list of the Blessed of the Church. The Beatification of the Dutch priest, held on June 15, 2006, at Mineirão stadium, confirmed in the hearts of devotees the certainty that we can always count on the intercession of the Missionary of Health and Peace.
To commemorate the date, a vast program is being prepared by the Cause for Canonization, beginning next Sunday, the 13th. At 7:30 am, devotees will participate in a Mass at the Health and Peace Sanctuary and immediately afterwards will leave in a procession through the city streets with the image of Blessed Father Eustáquio to the Christ the King Cathedral. There, devotees will participate in the Eucharistic Celebration at 10:30 am, in Thanksgiving for the 15th anniversary of the Beatification of Father Eustáquio. The ceremony will be presided over by Dom Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Belo Horizonte and president of the CNBB (National Conference of Brazilian Bishops), and will be broadcast on TV Horizonte and also on the Padre Eustáquio Channel on YouTube.
All celebrations will have a limited number of participants, with tickets required for advance collection. During the masses, all health protocols will be strictly followed.
Devotees throughout Brazil will still be able to watch the rebroadcast of the Beatification ceremony from June 15, 2006, on June 19th, via the Padre Eustáquio Channel. It will be a replay of the transmission made by TV Horizonte, which kindly provided the footage so that the Vice-Postulation could retransmit it online.
Until August 30th, Father Eustáquio's Day, other events are expected to be part of the program and will be announced later.
