Next weekend, the cities of Divisa Alegre and Águas Vermelhas, located in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, will receive a visit from the pilgrim relic of Blessed Father Eustáquio. The municipalities, which have parishes administered by the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, are preparing a program of prayer and celebration.
On Saturday, November 16th, the São Sebastião Parish in the city of Águas Vermelhas will hold a morning of spirituality dedicated to Blessed Father Eustáquio. The program will feature the special presence of Father Vinicius Maciel, SSSCC, vice-postulator of the Cause of Canonization of the Blessed. During the event, the relics of the Missionary of Health and Peace will be presented. At the end of the meeting, Father Vinicius will give a blessing to the sick.
At 7:00 PM, the vice-postulator will celebrate Holy Mass at the Nossa Senhora Aparecida community. The ceremony will be concelebrated by Father Francisco Gleison, SS.CC, concluding the day of prayers and tributes in this liturgical act in honor of the Blessed.
In the city of Divisa Alegre, also in the Jequitinhonha Valley in Minas Gerais, a three-day preparatory period will be held at the Nossa Senhora do Carmo Parish to await the arrival of the relics. The three-day period will begin this Thursday, November 14th, with Holy Mass at 7 pm. Eucharistic Celebrations will also be held on the 15th and 16th at the same time.
The program in Divisa Alegre will conclude on Sunday, November 17th, at 10:00 AM, with the arrival of the relics in the city and a solemn mass celebrating the life and legacy of Blessed Father Eustáquio, recognized for his apostolate dedicated to welcoming and promoting health and peace. The Eucharistic Celebration will be presided over by Father Vinícius Maciel, SS.CC, and concelebrated by the local parish priest, Father Jorge Felipe Campos, SS.CC. The ceremony will also be attended by the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts who maintain a mission in the Minas Gerais city.
