DEVOTION: Image of Father Eustáquio travels among the faithful in Patrocínio-MG

During the month of May, the image of Blessed Father Eustáquio, venerated in the community that bears his name in Patrocínio, in the Alto Paranaíba region of Minas Gerais, will be in the home of Matilde Amaral, continuing a tradition of faith and devotion.

In April, the pilgrim image was at the home of Irson and Glorinha, who passed it on to Matilde during a special celebration held on April 24th. The Eucharist was presided over by Father Élcio Mota, of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts.

In Matilde's home, an altar was set up to receive the image of Blessed Father Eustace, an object of devotion for the entire family and the local community. This pilgrimage of the image is not merely a symbolic gesture, but an opportunity for the faithful to express their faith and devotion to Blessed Father Eustace, seeking his intercession and protection in their lives.

The gesture has become a tradition in the community. Every month a family receives the image of the Blessed and keeps it for 30 days. At the end, Holy Mass is celebrated in the home where the image is visiting, and during this same celebration, another family receives the image to spend the month in its company, and at the end, the community is received to celebrate the Eucharist, and so on throughout the year.

The community of Patrocínio continues to demonstrate its devotion to Blessed Father Eustáquio through these gestures of faith and unity, perpetuating his memory and spiritual influence in the region where he lived.
