At the end of the celebration, the children paid homage to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a coronation filled with music and emotion. Many people who attended the mass wept upon seeing so much beauty in the children's songs.
After the mass, the children, parents, musicians, and coordinators were welcomed into one of the Sanctuary's halls by the Catechesis team with a snack and much gratitude. Last year, the Little Singers also performed at the Padre Eustáquio festival, and now they are already thinking about next year's festival.
Little Singers of the Sacred Hearts
The "Little Singers of the Sacred Hearts" Choir was created in June 1997, with the support of the late parish priest Father José Erlei de Almeida. The group does not have age or time requirements for leaving the choir, thus the limit of perseverance depends on each child. However, the average age of the children and teenagers is 6 to 14 years old.
The work is voluntary, with the support of families and the parish priest. The main activity of the young singers is evangelization, especially during liturgical celebrations such as Easter, the Coronation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Christmas. Whenever invited, the singers also perform in towns neighboring Carmópolis de Minas.
