Children at the Padre Eustáquio Daycare Center cultivate a vegetable garden and learn about food and nature through hands-on experience.

The nursery and preschool students (ages 1, 2, and 3) at Padre Eustáquio Daycare Center, Unit 2, participated in an activity that combined learning, fun, and contact with nature: planting a vegetable garden.

During the activity, the children got their hands dirty and helped plant various vegetables, including lettuce, kale, beets, mustard greens, and other varieties that will later be used in meals prepared by the daycare center itself.

More than just a fun activity, this initiative is part of the children's learning process, sparking curiosity and encouraging care, responsibility, and patience. By observing the growth of plants, the little ones understand, in a practical way, where food comes from, and develop a greater awareness of the importance of preserving nature and healthy eating.

The experience also strengthens the children's connection with the environment, showing that small actions can generate big results. When harvest time arrives, they will be able to experience another stage of this process, realizing that the food they grew will be on the institution's menu.

At Padre Eustáquio Daycare, we believe that education happens through meaningful experiences. By integrating play, nature, and careful attention to nutrition, we provide experiences that contribute to the development of more conscious, responsible children who are connected to the world around them.
