The "Celebrate as a Family" guide for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord is now available. This material is offered weekly by the Episcopal Pastoral Commission for Liturgy of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB).
This Sunday, January 9th, the Church celebrates the Baptism of the Lord. It is an occasion on which "we implore that the grace received in our own baptism be renewed in each of us.".
Christ baptized in the Jordan, and with the Holy Spirit hovering over him, God the Father solemnly declares him as his Son. In this celebration, we ask that God grant to his adopted children, reborn of water and the Holy Spirit, to persevere constantly in his love.
At the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Health and Peace, the church of Father Eustáquio, there are three times when masses are broadcast via... Padre Eustáquio ChannelSaturday at 5 PM and Sunday at 10 AM and 7 PM. In this way, we can participate, living the dignity of the priestly people that our baptism conferred upon us. We can not only participate, but celebrate the Lord's Day with our families.
The instructions suggest preparing a small container with water and a sprig of greenery for the sprinkling ceremony. Baptismal keepsakes or photos of the household members can be placed in the room.
