From now on, devotees and tourists interested in learning more about the life of Father Eustáquio and the history of the Sanctuary of Health and Peace in Belo Horizonte will have access to guided tours of the church. This initiative, from the National Secretariat for the Cause of Canonization, will take place every afternoon.
From Monday to Friday, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, researcher Leandro Castro will be available to those interested in learning more about this history. For now, simply go to the Parish Office, next to Father Eustáquio's Shop, and inform them that you would like to take a guided tour. Later, when demand increases, the idea is that people will schedule times to visit the church.
In groups of up to 5 people, participants will visit the Father Eustace Memorial, where the Blessed Father's remains are kept, and learn about his significance. Following this, they will visit the small museum inside the church and hear interesting facts about the construction of the Sanctuary, which was designed by Blessed Father Eustace. Throughout the tour, which lasts approximately 1 hour, various stories and interesting facts will be shared, and questions can be answered.
Leandro Castro, who holds a Master's degree in Religious Studies, works at the National Secretariat for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed Father Eustace. He is one of those responsible for recovering and cataloging the material belonging to the religious figure. The historical team has been working more intensively on Father Eustace's objects, photos, letters, and writings since the beginning of the year, restoring, uncovering information, and organizing all the materials.
If you are interested in learning more about the Sanctuary and the history of Father Eustáquio, come and take a guided tour. Visits are on a first-come, first-served basis, but if you prefer, call the Secretariat and schedule a time (between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm). The telephone number is (31) 3462-6557.
